Fifth Championship Show

Saturday, 2nd April 2005

Although the day started out foggy, the Exotic Cat Club enjoyed a brilliant day full of sunshine on Saturday 2 April. Perhaps this helped to make this show one of the friendliest and happiest it has been my pleasure to attend. The show was the fifth Championship Show put on by the Club and was held in the delightful country setting of Mappleborough Village in Warwickshire. The standard and quality of Exotics clearly indicated the great advances that have been made in the Breed over the few years that the Exotic Cat Club has been holding shows. Cats from as far away as Russia and Finland were in competition together, with many others having parents who came from America, Germany, Holland and Italy all indicating the international nature of the present-day Exotic cat.

In addition to the wonderful Exotics, there were some delightful household pets on display.

The Judges for the day were: Carole Gainsbury, Anne Gregory, Louvane Stevenson and Sally Tokens, all of whom did a great job and certainly made a lot of people happy. Birgit Solstein was the Duty Vet for the day. Thanks especially go to Birgit, who manages one of the busiest East London PDSA clinics, yet found time to spend the day with us.

The Club also wishes to thanks all our sponsors who so generously supported our breed specialist show. It was fortunate that the car park was close!
